Social events
Quiz time
It's choir half term on February 15th, so there will be no rehearsal. Instead, there will be a social event in the form of a quiz, hosted by Mr Simon Hickson of the tenors. It will be upstairs at the Magnolia as usual, starting at 8pm. If you attended the last choir quiz night, you will remember that it was brilliant fun, with a healthy level of over-competitiveness and cheating. If you didn't, don't miss out this time. As it's not long since the Christmas party, there's no need to bring food but there will be a small charge for the quiz (amount TBC, but probably just a few pounds) which will be used to create an EXCITING CASH PRIZE for the victorious team. See you there.

May Ball this Fri, 1st May 2009
The Dulwich Ukelele Club, who may, or may not, play some George Formby classics are having a May Ball this Friday at the Sir Thomas More Hall. Only £10 for lots of acts including the Harmonica Dads, who, I'm guessing, are a bunch of dads playing harmonicas. Let's all go. Will pester you all about it on Monday. Short notice I know, but it's not everyday an event like this comes along.
Into the Woods tomorrow night
Hi Into the Woods folks. This is the pub, the Grand Union- http://www.viewlondon.co.uk/pubsandbars/grand-union-maps-57527.html -on Kennington Road, just past the Mission I think. I'll aim to get there 6.30-6.45. If you are going straight to the Lambeth Mission, the tickets will be left in the name Note-orious. Neares tube- lambeth North. See you tomorrow.
Musicalifragilistic
Vicky, the brains behind Note-orious, has suggested we all dress up as characters from the musicals and go to Musicalifragilistic. You can find out more here.
Their next bash is on Saturday the 18th April at the Conway hall near Holborn tube. If we get the tickets in advance they are £10 each.Who are you going to dress up as? Here's some suggestions to get you thinking... Buddy from Buddy, Mary Poppins from Mary Poppins, Oliver from Oliver, Sweeney Todd from Sweeney Todd, Miss Saigon from Miss Saigon. You get the idea.
Here's a pic of our very own Vic as a cat from "Jesus Christ Superstar".

You too can dress like this
See below for details of jiving at the Rivoli ballroom. Let's try and get a bunch together for the 16th May.
Let's Dance- Let's sway under the moonlight, the serious moonlight... in Brockley.
Cheryl had the great idea that we should all dress up and go jiving at the Rivoli ballroom... not too far away, in Brockley, just by Crofton Park train station. It's every third Saturday of the month and if we can get ten or more of us interested we can reserve a table. There's live bands and bars and dancing til 1am. And if you get there at the start of the evening the first hour is given over to lessons (mainly dance but a bit of maths and geography thrown in too) Oh, and it's £12. Anyone interested, let me know and I'll pursue it further and we can try and figure out which Saturday is best.
So come on everyone, put on your red shoes and dance the blues. We can all be like this... maybe. We can be heroes (oops, getting my Bowie songs confused).

Hi folks. Tom Collins will be appearing in Stephen Sondheim's "Into the Woods" at The Lambeth Mission on the 26th, 27th and 28th March. Let's try and get a bunch of people together to go and support a fellow chorister... and to have a few drinks and a generally sociable time. If anyone fancies going, let me know, or have a word with Tom and we'll see what day is best. You can contact me through this site, or our Facebook site, or on Monday nights.
How Tom might look.
